    Schools have always prohibited students from using drugs and alcohol, however, recently many young adults frequently smoke e-cigarettes. “Between 2011 and 2012, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention showed a sharp increase in e-cigarette experimentation among American middle and high school students. » Vaping is often the term used for smoking electronic cigarettes. The reasons why adolescents use drugs and alcohol have been discussed in depth; but what hasn't been discussed in depth is why they smoke in the first place? What exactly drives teens to smoke e-cigarettes and what are the effects of vaping? Many explanations can be used to determine why adolescents smoke. Some of these are the same reason why teenagers drink and do drugs. The main reasons include their desire to fit in with their peers and their natural curiosity. First of all, the most common reason why teenagers smoke is social acceptance. High school is a crucial time in a young person's life. It is important that making friends be a good influence on a student. All teenagers want is to be accepted by their peers. It’s human nature to long for a place to belong. Most children smoke with or because their friends smoke. In order to stay in the group, they will do what their friends do. Smoking e-cigarettes is now the latest social trend and is considered what the popular kids do. Additionally, teenagers start doing these things simply because they are curious. Unlike regular cigarettes, e-cigarettes are not regulated by the FDA. This means there are fewer rules regarding sales to minors. Without FDA regulations, the accessibility of e-cigs is made easier. Just go out and buy them. Electronic cigarettes look like real ones, but they run on batteries. Electronic...... middle of paper ...... according to controversial beliefs, there are no serious long-term effects from vaping. Compared to real cigarettes, e-cigarettes do not contain any toxic chemicals. For example, e-cigarettes do not contain tobacco and the small amount of nicotine they contain is not enough to create dependence.
