Essay / Impact of the Compulsory Military Service Law - 1004
The men who send young boys to die have not themselves fought in a war and do not know the horrors of war. With the involvement of the majority of men and women participating in the military, the call to war will be more thoughtful and safer. For example, the majority of wars that America has personally fought could and should have been avoided through democratic decision. The war in Iraq is a perfect example; more time and energy should have been devoted to the idea of war with Iraq and the Middle East. Instead, the U.S. government acted forcefully and to the surprise of the American people; what seemed like a nice little war turned into a 10-year investment. Men and women in power have seen loved ones, friends and innocent lives lost; the call to war would be a just and not a reckless cause. There is a growing need for college graduates who need government benefits. There is a surplus of able-bodied men and women seeking a career or a chance to improve their lives by using the benefits provided by the Compulsory Military Service Act as a catalyst for improving the standard of living of every citizen. By having experience that will be transitional in the job market, as the job market is flooded with highly skilled workers with military training, overall productivity will improve significantly.
