Essay / It was more like dumb luck. In the Bible, Noah was a righteous man in the midst of a wicked population.*The dimensions of the boat are very different. The boat in the Babylonian flood story is a cube equal on all sides. In the Bible, Noah is told to build his ark in a ratio of 450 x 75 x 45. This ratio is what shipbuilders call the perfect ratio for the stability of a boat, but it was only known 'in the 15th century AD. Gilgamesh's boat, being equal on all sides, would have been extremely unstable and unseaworthy*. The Babylonian man took seven days to build his boat while Noah took 120 years. Why would people so rich in numerology use a non-numerological number such as 120 when seven was already in history ??
